Post Perfection is a workshop designed to respond to the epidemic of anonymity in the objects we own and the psychological dispensability that follows.

Plastic is one of the most technically perfected materials we produce, yet one of the most psychologically disposable. The plastic we produce today will long outlast the systems of value that created it. As modern production continues to optimise for precision and uniformity, Post Perfection questions perfection as a design ideal and the anonymity it often produces.

As a design community, there is often a distancing act that comes with the conversation around plastic. Rather than treating it with aversion, the workshop asks how our relationship with the material might change if we began to value it differently.

Each experiment reprocesses, hand-dyes and hand-moulds plastic into individual lamps. Identical forms become one-of-one objects through a process that embraces the unpredictability of hand-led making. The maker's decisions are laid bare through variations in colour and form.

Through this process, the material takes on a ceramic sensibility, where irregularity becomes a marker of care and intention. Imperfection becomes what makes each piece meaningful.

Rather than treating sustainability as a question of material substitution alone, Post Perfection explores whether material individuality can encourage longer relationships between people and the objects they choose to keep.

The most responsible future for plastic is ultimately to make it worth keeping.
